Sleeman Cup
Sleeman Cup
The Sleeman Cup is an annual event that puts the Members of the Listowel Golf Club up against the Stratford Country Club in a friendly competition for yearly bragging rights. The two day event uses both team formats and individual matches, lining up players of similar handicaps.
Day one typically consists of 27 holes at the Listowel Golf Club, playing 9 holes of 2-man scramble, scotch two-ball, and 2-man better-ball. Points are up for grabs for each segment of the match, as well as the overall match.
Day two consists of 18 hole matches at the Stratford Country Club. Points are awarded for the winner of the front nine, the back nine, and overall.
This year the Sleeman Cup is on hold pending further review due to COVID19.
The Sleeman Cup is open to all full adult male members. There are two ways of qualifying for the event. Club Championship Flight Winners (Championship Flight through to D Flight), as well as the Senior Men’s Club Champ and Runner-Up will qualify. Additionally, the top four players from the Men’s Day Low Net Average List, and the Low Gross Average List (as of August 23) will qualify. Range Members are not eligible to play in this event.
